The Plenary Session of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has unanimously approved the motion presented by the Popular Municipal Group to request the regional and national governments to activate all mechanisms, especially through the corresponding royal decrees-law, to mitigate in a coordinated manner and effective the situation of catastrophic zone that is lived in all the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, especially in the most severely affected municipalities.
"From Caravaca de la Cruz we stand in solidarity and show our support to the neighboring municipalities affected by the cold drop, and we appreciate the voluntary work of those of Local Police, Fire, Civil Protection and health, as well as anonymous people, who have displaced to the affected areas to collaborate as far as possible in the cleaning and aid work, "said the mayor during the plenary session.
Likewise, he defended that "the enormous severity of the material damages caused, with the consequent impact on economic activity, make the approval of exceptional norms essential".
During the plenary session, a green light was also given to other issues presented by the municipal groups, such as the motion presented by the Socialist Party on the need to establish a noise-free day at fairs and parties to meet the needs of people with disorder of the Neurological development, with which a more inclusive, friendly and non-discriminatory municipality is pursued that eliminates invisible barriers attending to the needs of these vulnerable groups.
The councilors showed their support for the proposal, agreeing to modify one of the points of agreement to state that the measure is limited to a time slot in the fair of children's attractions.
The Plenary also expressed unanimous support for the motion presented by the Municipal Group of Citizens to initiate the file of appointment of the City's Favorite Son to the caravaqueño artist José Carrilero Gil.
Despite being forced to leave Caravaca as a child, José Carrilero never lost his roots and was tremendously generous with his hometown by donating to the museum that this city founded in his honor, 90 sculptural and pictorial works of great value, provided by the author of permanent way.
José Carrilero is considered one of the best national sculptors of the second half of the twentieth century, Rome Prize for Fine Arts, academic number of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa María de la Arrixaca de Murcia, Gold Medal of the Arts Murcianas, among many other awards and recognitions.
Within the matter of urgent matters, the motion passed to the Plenary by the Municipal Socialist Group was approved to declare the municipality in Climate Emergency and reverse the urban, commercial and mobility expansion policies not in accordance with this declaration.
The Plenary was also favorable to the Caravaca City Council being represented as a member of the Territorial Council of Real Estate Property for municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, following the proposal made by the Delegation of Economy of Finance in Murcia.
Likewise, the designation of the representatives of the Municipal Corporation in the collegiate body of the 'Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest', which will be José Francisco García Fernández, Isabel López Sánchez, Mónica Sánchez García, José Moreno Medina, María José Soria, was approved Martínez, Gema Robles Nova and José Antonio García Sánchez.
The session also addressed several requests and questions regarding the clearing of rural roads in Barranda and Archivel and the opening of the secretariat service of the Uned, among other matters.
The motion presented by the Municipal Socialist Group on energy efficiency and public lighting of Caravaca de la Cruz and its districts based on the measures and conclusions to the authorship made by a company in 2018 was rejected by the rest of representatives of the political groups , arguing these that the data contained does not fit the reality of the municipality and the figures that appear in the City Council.
