A total of fourteen athletes have received municipal support at an event held in the Plenary Hall with the mayor and mayor of Sports
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has delivered to fourteen caravaqueños athletes and the organizers of four events of the aid included in the call for 'Scholarships for sports activities', to which the Department of Sports allocates an amount of the municipal budget of a total of 21,000 thousand euros.
The Plenary Hall of the Town Hall hosted the act of delivery of these grants with which, according to the mayor, "supports the sports career and recognizes the effort and merit of caravaqueños who proudly bear the name of our city in competitions officials and that, in addition, represent an example for the rest of young people because they embody the values ​​of sport so necessary for our society. "
The Department of Sports also delivered the aid intended to collaborate with the organization and development of sporting events that have the municipality of Caravaca as headquarters.
In this regard, the councilor who heads the Sports area, Pepe Tudela, said that "Caravaca de la Cruz has consolidated evidence and regional and national reference, which promote sports tourism, bringing together several thousand people every year" .
The amount of aid within this call for events amounts to 6,000 euros.
The subsidies are awarded on a competitive concurrence basis, in accordance with objective criteria based on the rules governing the call.
For this, in the case of individual athletes, sports merits are taken into account, such as having participated in championships in Spain, Europe or the World or having podiums in national or international events, among other aspects.In the case of events, these grants are regulated for the first time and recognize the effort, dedication, originality and experience in the organization, scoring aspects such as number of editions, participants, type of event, promotion and economic results.
These grants are intended to support training, facilitate participation in regional, national and international events and promote sports.
The beneficiaries of the aid to athletes have been: Sergio Arias Aznar (Padel), Alejandro García Rico (Athletics), Juan José Guerrero de Gea (Duathlon / Triathlon), José Antonio Hoyos Alarcón (Duathlon / Triathlon), Pablo León Marín (Duathlon / Triathlon), José Antonio Marín Martínez (Duathlon / Triathlon), Marina Martínez López (Duathlon / Triathlon), Manuel Reina Romera (Athletics), Francisco Rus García (Cycling), Javier Sánchez Gómez (Mountain Racing), Alberto Sánchez Romero (Duathlon) / Triathlon), Paloma Sánchez Sala (Athletics), Andrés Torres Llamas (Athletics) and Diego Vicente Clemente (Duathlon / Triathlon).
The events that attended this call and that have been recipients of the aid of the Department of Sports are: The 'Caravaca Trail Experience', the XX Campus of Soccer and Indoor Soccer Miguel Ángel Ferrer 'Mista', the race 'Caravaca 10.0' and 'La Vara Trail Run'.
