The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has held a Local Security Board, co-chaired by the mayor, José Francisco García, and by the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Jiménez, to analyze the cooperation between Security Forces and Bodies and assess the status of some issues of interest related to citizen security and neighborhood coexistence.
At the end of the meeting, the mayor thanked the participation and response of the Government delegate and reported on the issues that, at the request of the City Council, have been put on the table.
Regarding the illegal occupation of real estate, José Francisco García has pointed out "that it is an issue that has worried the City Council and that it is already in the process of being solved. For about a month, when the neighbors moved us this problem, we wanted to flag the issue and act as quickly as possible, asking for the necessary cooperation from both the owners and the competent administrations. "
"Following the efforts made, the General Directorate of Housing has formalized the complaint in cases that affect social housing and the administrative procedure that will put an end to these occupations is already under way," he said.
Therefore, the City Council has transferred the existing problem of illegal occupation of housing both the Autonomous Community and the Government Delegation so that they act in accordance with the established administrative and judicial procedures.
The mayor of Caracas has reported that there are other cases in which illegally occupied homes are privately owned and, specifically, "belonging to banking entities, to which we have asked them to file a complaint as owners so that the process can proceed."
"The City Council ensures the normal coexistence and tranquility in all neighborhoods and districts and we are always next to the neighbors, doing everything in our power to prevent people from installing with impunity in foreign properties," he said.
The delegate of the Government has pronounced in the same line, transmitting "tranquility to the neighbors because it is being acted; the cases are identified and the attestations will pass to judicial disposition".
As for the situation of the Archivel Civil Guard Barracks, he has informed that "there are three positions and three vacancies. There is an open competition to fill them within two months and in the meantime we have the collaboration and reinforcement of the Civil Guard and the Caravaca Police. "
The delegate has positively assessed the coordination between Local Police and Civil Guard and has indicated that crime in the municipality has dropped in the first nine months of 2019 with respect to the same period of the previous year.
There have been 16 criminal offenses less and 4 minor and 12 serious crimes, according to data provided by the Government Delegation.
The mayor has also transferred to the representative of the Government of Spain in the Region, the convenience of installing in Caravaca de la Cruz an office with permanent headquarters for the issuance of the National Identity Document (DNI), which serves the different municipalities of the Northwest Region
