Students of the school 'Virgen de la Candelaría' planted a hundred trees in the area of 'Las Tosquillas' in Barranda, where the reforestation educational days that the Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz will hold periodically, will begin collaboration with schools and environmental agents.
“We consider that it is an activity that has an important educational function and with which we also contribute to improve the forest mass of places in our municipality,” said mayor Ana Belén Martínez.
For the councilor responsible for the area of Environment "bringing children closer to the work of reforestation is an essential activity that transmits very important values for life, such as ecological and, ultimately, those of respect for nature".
Children planted native species of the Northwest, such as the Carrasco Pine, in a day of coexistence in which environmental education prevailed, with the involvement of all students and teachers of the public school Virgen de la Candelaria, who continued the project of Responsible citizens initiated in the classrooms.
