The City Council of the Cross commemorates the 'International Day of the Rights of the Child' with activities of playful and educational nature, which will take place next Saturday, November 23, on the Paseo de La Corredera.
From 11.00 to 13.30 hours, the Department of Youth will hold various games and workshops, led by monitors.
The main objective of the activities will be to publicize the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and that the participating children have fun with the inflatables celebrating their day.
"We have recovered this activity within the programming of the Department of Youth for children to have fun and learn as they like, playing," said the Councilor for Youth, Laura Sánchez Domenech.
The 'International Children's Day' as the mayor recalled- "is also a day to raise awareness of inequalities, in which a worldwide call is made for boys and girls to have a better future."
The UN General Assembly recommended in 1954 a day to promote fraternity among the world's children and promote their well-being through social and cultural activities. The United Nations celebrates International Children's Day in honor of the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child states that every child should enjoy health, enjoy rest and play, have a family, a name, a nationality, receive education, develop the capacity for freedom of thought and expression, and be protected against child exploitation, among other things.
