The educational centers of the municipality participate in awareness and prevention actions, taught by CAVI staff, within the measures of the State Pact against Gender Violence
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Equal Opportunities, joins the commemoration of the 'International Day for the Elimination of Gender Violence', with various awareness activities, as reported by the councilor who directs the area, Mónica Sánchez, accompanied by the technical team responsible for the CAVI.
The central act will be the concert and recital 'Mírale a los ojos', in which a large group of women from the town will participate, thanks to the collaboration of students of the Conservatory of Music 'Leandro Martínez Romero' and the components of the Club de Library reading.
It will be held next Tuesday, November 26, at 8:00 p.m., in the church of San José de la Calle Mayor, and will be accompanied by the reading of a manifesto.
"In addition to the initiatives that we have implemented in schools and institutes, we wanted to introduce this cultural event, open to society, that will serve to show hope and support to the victims, but also to express our firm condemnation of all mistreatment ", said Councilwoman Monica Sanchez.
On Monday, March 25, all the educational centers of the municipality will be the protagonists of the events of the 'International Day for the Elimination of Gender Violence'.
In the Secondary schools, the manifesto will be read and in Infant, Primary and 1 of that, an awareness campaign will be carried out through the story to educate in equality: "Princess Carlota and her dragon Mascot".
The awareness actions are not reduced to March 25, since from October to January, the CAVI is giving talks at the secondary schools for 'Prevention of gender violence in adolescents'.
Recently, the youth workshop 'Caravaca da la chapa' was also held, initiatives framed in the State Pact against Gender Violence.
The radio stations of the Region will also collaborate with the CAVI in the dissemination of the objectives of the 'International Day for the Elimination of Gender Violence', with spaces for information and awareness in the media, songs and storytelling .
Care Center for Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI)
In 2016, Caravaca was a pioneer municipality in decentralizing the Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) in the capital and implementing it in the municipality.
Since its commissioning, it has served more than a thousand users in the municipalities of the Northwest.
Until last October, CAVI had attended 80 new users, compared to 64 who received assistance in the same period of 2018, as was made public after the Local Table against Gender Violence recently convened by the Caravaca City Council.
CAVI is attended by a multidisciplinary team formed by a social worker, a lawyer and a psychologist.
Its customer service hours are from 08.00 to 15.00, from Monday to Friday.
Mondays also remain open from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The service is located in the Municipal Center for Employment and Training and Equality (968 72 22 22 or 901 that derives to the central of the Network of CAVIS Region of Murcia).
Service of Prevention and Attention Victims of Abuse and / or Sexual Assault (Cavax)
The General Directorate of Women, in collaboration with the Department of Equal Opportunities, has implemented in Caravaca de la Cruz the Service for Prevention and Comprehensive Assistance to Victims of Abuse and / or Sexual Assault (Cavax), to cover the municipalities of The Northwest Region.
Cavax offers psychological assistance and information about the resources available to victims and has an accompaniment service in judicial and other proceedings;
It will also carry out awareness and prevention campaigns in the municipality.
CAVAX professionals travel the last Monday every month, from 9 am to 2 pm, to the Municipal Employment and Training Center.
