The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Commerce and Environment, organizes a series of conferences to disseminate the importance of the so-called 'Circular Economy' and the prominent role it should play in the current consumption model.
The first talks will take place on November 28 and December 4, addressed to the AMPAS and the general public, respectively.
Both will be held at the Municipal Employment, Training and Equality Center, at 7:00 p.m.
"With these two days we will discover what is the" circular economy ", what are its benefits for the environment, development and citizens," said Councilwoman Ana Belén Martínez, who stressed that it will have a special impact on the local commerce;
"in the important thing that is to buy the products in your municipality, so much for the growth of the same as for the own environment".
The current economic model becomes unsustainable on a planet in which the population grows exponentially and natural resources, where raw materials are extracted to meet consumption needs, are finite.
Circulating economy presents the best option to change this production and consumption model for a system where products extend their life and waste become material raw materials, with which to manufacture new products, whose waste will be, again, raw materials To manufacture new products.
The Councilor for Trade and Environment has stressed that "for this change of economic model to work, it is necessary the active participation of all: institutions, producers and consumers. Therefore, we encourage caravaqueños to know a little more about the circular economy and on the role that, as a consumer or consumer, they can have in it. "
