The XVI edition of the Medieval Market has exceeded all expectations: about 20,000 visitors and 9.66% more tourists than during the previous edition, despite the fact that the 2018 one had a longer day.
"The data collected by the municipal Tourism area support the economic impact of this event in the municipality, both for the increase in visitors and services provided, indicators that support tourism potential of a tourism product that this year has exceeded all expectations and which is already more than consolidated in Caravaca ", as indicated by the Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Gómez.
Murcia, Valencia or Madrid have been the main regions of origin of the national visitor, while the United Kingdom has been the first destination of origin of the international tourist.
For the mayor of Tourism, "these data, added to 100% hotel occupancy -credra endorsed by the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia- support the success of the promotional work that has been carried out from Caravaca de la Cruz for this party".
The average profile of the tourist who has visited Caravaca during the bridge of the Constitution has been in the 45-65 years, from organized groups, families and couples, followed by a profile with an age between 30-45 years and by Last, the tourist under 30 years.
"This is another fact that invites optimism, because it is a tourist profile that, by age and travel format, spends more and helps consolidate the positive economic impact of the Medieval Market in Caravaca," added José Carlos Gómez.
Likewise, the Councilor for Commerce, Hospitality and Handicrafts, Ana Belén Martínez, has added her assessment to the optimism generated by this data, highlighting the important economic impact that the XVI edition of the Medieval Market has had on commerce, hotels, bars and restaurants not only from Caravaca, but from the region as a whole, judging by the 20,000 visitors that Caravaca de la Cruz has hosted during these three days.
Finally, the Councilor for Public Safety, José Santiago Villa, has made a special mention for the security forces and the personnel who have executed the established device, allowing the event to take place without incident at the level of security and traffic.
Local Police, Civil Guard, Fire, Civil Protection and Red Cross have collaborated on the device.
