The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has been the scene of the delivery of the 'Research Awards', granted by the 'Robles Chillida' caravaqueña foundation, under the collaboration agreement that it has with the University of Murcia .
In total and for the seventh year, 30,000 euros have been awarded to five research projects related to the area of ​​Health Sciences, which add to the study grants recently given to 16 high school students from the Baccalaureate, Vocational and Primary Education.
The mayor, José Francisco García, has praised the foundation for its "exemplary work of patronage and support for study and research, which is for the benefit of society as a whole and is something that we all have to be proud of all Caravaqueños ".
The academic act has been directed by the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján Alcaráz, and has the interventions of the mayor, José Francisco García Fernández;
of the vice-rector of Health Sciences, Luis Vicente García-Marcos Álvarez, and president of the Robles Chillida Foundation, Amador López.
Accompanied by the secretary of the board, Francisco Romero Rodríguez, and the vice president and executor, Amalia Martín Ramos.
The award-winning researchers have also been covered in the Plenary Hall of the Consistory by members of the Municipal Corporation, as well as directors and components of AMPAS of schools in the municipality and other representatives of groups and companies in the town.
Winners
The winning research projects in this edition, endowed with an aid of 10,000 euros each, have fallen to Professor Elvira Larqué Daza for "Effects of polyamines of breast milk on the intestinal maturation of children" and the Dr. Francisco Marín Ortuño for "Influences of an educational intervention on the control of cardiovascular risk factors in patients with peripheral arterial disease (LEARN-IT study)".
The 'International Mobility' diploma for professors from the University of Murcia has been for Dr. Jesús Isaías Gil for the completion of the Project in Chile: "Isolation and characterization of micro vesicles and exosomes for cell therapy and their role as transporters in veterinary medicine in the canine species. "
The prizes for doctoral thesis have also been presented, whose beneficiaries have been Camila Peres Rubio, author of "New markers of oxidative stress in dogs: technical aspects and practical applications", and Cristina Martínez Serrano, author of "Improving the efficiency of technologies swine embryonic. "
Endowed with 3,000 and 2,000 euros, respectively (first and second prize).
Robles Chillida Foundation
It is a non-profit organization that has among its aims the aid to studies and research in the Region of Murcia.
It owes its name to the caravaqueño pharmacist Elías Manuel Robles Chillida, who donated his assets to support initiatives that promote, among other matters, the health and well-being of citizens.
The board of trustees that governs the foundation is formed by different positions related to research and teaching.
