Coinciding with the festival of San Juan de la Cruz, patron of the poets, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Culture, delivers this Saturday, December 14, the prizes of the Literary Contest 'Albacara' .
The public event will take place in the Plenary Hall, at 5:00 p.m., with the assistance of winners, organizers and the fifteen members who have composed the jury.
The councilor responsible for the area of ​​Culture, Juan Manuel de León, has reported that coinciding with this 38th edition, a web page has been created to improve the dissemination of the contest among writers and fans of literature throughout Spain.
Accompanied by the editor Francisco Marín and the member of the organization, María Reyes Aznar, the Councilor for Culture highlighted the "long history of the Albacara, with about forty years of history, and the determined commitment of the City Council to continue promoting them in the hand of the Carmelite Fathers, the Queen Group and the Gollarín publishing house ".
According to the ruling issued by the jury, the II International Prize for Mystic Poetry 'San Juan de la Cruz' has fallen to David Rey Fernández, a native of El Ferrol (La Coruña), with the poems entitled "The burning contours of the earth" , endowed with € 3,500.
The winner of the II International Narrative Prize 'Ciudad de la Cruz' has been Rafaela Sánchez Torres, a native of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia), for the work "The window", prize endowed with € 1,500;
All the prizes of the contest include the edition of the works in charge of the Gollarín Publishing House.
In the section of the 'Mandarines School' Prize, with diplomas, edition of the works and awards between 250 and 75 euros the following distinctions have been awarded:

In its previous call the Albacara Literary Contest became composed of the 'Mandarines School Prize', the 'Ciudad de la Cruz Narrative Prize' and the 'San Juan de la Cruz Mystic Poetry Prize', the last two modalities now they acquire international character, as long as the works are urinals and written in Spanish.
