Sevillian cantaor Manuel Cuevas offers a recital of flamenco carols on this Sunday, December 22, in Caravaca la Cruz.
The concert, organized by the Department of Culture within the special program 'It's Christmas in Caravaca', will take place in the parish of La Concepción, at 8:00 pm, with a voluntary donation for the benefit of the Nursing Home.
Manuel Cuevas is one of the artists of the world of flamenco who has managed to win the prestigious 'Mining Lamp' of the International Competition of Cante de Las Minas de La Unión.
It is part of the so-called 'Generation of Knowledge', formed by tanned singers in the baggage of the most prestigious competitions and contests of the flamenco circuit.
He was born in Osuna (Seville) and began to sing flamenco as a child thanks to the great love he had in his family.
At the beginning of his career, he stood out as a saetero, since he treasures a force to lengthen the thirds with which he adjusted very well to the demands of this song.
However, not content with highlighting this aspect, Cuevas continued to study the history of flamenco and in 1999 he began to give his first recitals by the guitarist of the Puebla de Cazalla Fernando Rodríguez.
That same year he managed to be a finalist of the Mairena del Alcor Contest, a contest that will be followed by many others.
