The Popular Party that supports the Coalition Government team in the Caravaca City Council has taken stock after the first months of the legislature and at the beginning of this year 2020. Councilors Mónica Sánchez and Ana Belén Martínez and the deputy of the Parliamentary Group Popular in the Regional Assembly, Víctor Martínez-Carrasco, have assessed the situation at the municipal level as regional and national, respectively.

"Since the beginning of the legislature we have been fulfilling different objectives, always moved by the general interest of all caravaqueños, through a political project of proven facts, based on the demands of citizens. Facts and decision-making against inaction and the passivity of the last socialist legislature, "said Mónica Sánchez, who explained that" the approval of the budgets at the end of July 2019 has allowed us to develop a good part of this work, as we remember that we came from budgets carried out by a socialist government team paralyzed by the lack of understanding with the rest of the political forces. "

The popular mayor has recalled some of the actions that have been carried out in the first months of the legislature, as a special plan to renew the painting of the horizontal signage of streets and crossings of the town center and districts, charged to the regional budget.

A special road bump repair plan has also been carried out.

Mónica Sánchez has highlighted the special shock cleaning plan, where it was performed for a month and a half in the urban area, districts, urbanizations and Cavila industrial estate.

"Specific thorough cleaning tasks were carried out, with products, machinery and personnel destined for this purpose and in collaboration with the Local Police to improve the efficiency and speed of service."

Other actions have been the improvement plan for parks, gardens and green areas, to which the work of clearing and regeneration in green areas, rural roads, ravines and road margins, through the Regional Councils, financed by the Autonomous community.

Mónica Sánchez has also highlighted that just after Christmas, the felled trunks of the Corredera trees have been removed, in total seven trees that had been felled by different diseases and after the trunks and their roots were removed, they have been replaced by other species .

"In an interview recently granted by Pepe Moreno, spokesman for the Socialist Group, he said that everything that is being carried out now was prepared by the previous Socialist Government team. They are installed on the palette, because the reality is that they were unable to carry out the measures they speak of. Now, with José Francisco García in charge, we are working and taking measures to improve the lives of the citizens of Caravaca and its districts, and humbly believe that the neighbors perceive this new form of working, "explained Mónica Sánchez.

"In a joint action from the Department of Heritage and Urban Planning, execution orders are being carried out for the rehabilitation of private heritage that is in poor condition of the historic center. We have also been beneficiaries of aid for the ARRU, the area of urban and rural regeneration and renovation. On this occasion the subsidy is 1,500,000 euros, destined to those neighbors whose house is in the historic center of Caravaca and will be developed in three years, "he explained.

Soon the study room will be opened 24 hours a day, on Severo Ochoa Street, with an autonomous system that will host 150 places for uninterrupted use for the study connected to the Local Police 24 hours.

In these months Caravaca de la Cruz has been the first City Council to implement the legal guidance service to help vulnerable people.

Another service that has been provided since October 2019 is the itinerant CAVAX, for the attention of victims of sexual abuse and / or aggression outside the couple's scope.

"In a joint action with the departments of Public Services, Citizen Security and Urban Planning, the Local Security Board table was held for the problem of housing occupation, in some cases that depend on the General Directorate of Housing and others that depend on banks. In both, from the City Council and with the relevant police control, administrative eviction files have been opened whose purpose is to vacate homes and restore normalcy in the neighborhood, "he explained.

For her part, the mayor Ana Belén Martínez has highlighted issues such as the recent Christmas program, with more than 100 activities, some of them novel, that contributed to energizing streets and shops in the town center and districts;

the XVI edition of the Medieval Market, with a lot of influx;

the October Fair that managed to combine the majority of local companies in the automobile sector.

Regarding the environment, the councilor has highlighted the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Alvelal Association to promote the rural environment;

the conference on circular economy with Ecoembes or the day of reforestation with schoolchildren, "the first of these days that we want to carry out due to the importance of its double environmental aspect and awareness of children," as stated.

"During this time, several local public employment programs have been carried out and different job opportunities have been launched in various areas of the City Council for the proper functioning of municipal services," explained Ana Belén Martínez, who added that the workforce Local Police will soon be reinforced with 7 new agents, "which will improve safety in urban areas and districts."

The new Municipal Citizen Service Office, the renovation of the municipal transparency web portal;

the democratic election of pediatric mayors for the first time or the creation of a specific Department of Animal Protection that has already carried out activities such as the first days of canine education, are other issues highlighted by the mayor.

"With this balance, which does not include everything we are doing for lack of space, we want to demonstrate our desire, enthusiasm and courage when making decisions with the common objective of improving Caravaca de la Cruz," he concluded.
