This day is part of the collaboration agreement between the Department of Environment and the aforementioned association to promote rural areas through sustainable initiatives
Caravaca de la Cruz hosts on Thursday, February 6, at 4:00 p.m. at the Municipal Employment Center, a free access day on the participatory business model applied to the production of olive oil.
The Councilor for the Environment, Ana Belén Martínez, has informed that "the presentation of this project is part of the initiatives to strengthen the rural environment and regenerative agriculture, framed in the collaboration agreement between the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Association 'AlvelAl', with the support of 'Tui Care Foundation, agreement that is already bearing fruit in the form of different activities ".
"Spain is the world's leading producer of extra virgin olive oil and currently the sector is experiencing difficulties due to the price drop. Therefore, we have considered it a priority to support measures that guarantee the survival of the traditional olive grove, which creates landscape, maintains the natural environment and fixes its population, above all, certain areas where there is no other alternative, "said mayor Ana Belén Martínez.
After launching the first business case for the marketing of high quality almonds with the added value of being land and landscape restorers, in recent months the Association 'AlvelAl' has been working on another participatory business model, related in this case with extra virgin olive oil, made with high quality olive.
Among the objectives of AlVelAl is the launch of businesses related to organic and regenerative agriculture, based on the philosophy of the 4 returns.
These businesses, little by little, will allow a more profitable and, at the same time, more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture.
The training day on 'Introduction to Regenerative Agriculture' or the 'Agrocafé' have been other initiatives already materialized within the aforementioned collaboration agreement between the Caravaqueño Consistory and Association 'AlvelAl'.
