Among the meetings held by the mayor, José Francisco García, highlights the one he had with the State Mercantile Society for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies, (SEGITTUR), under the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, and to reactivate the 'Caravaca, smart tourist destination' project.
From the departments of Tourism and Strategic Projects 2024 have wanted to give account of other results that I have given the meetings held with tour operators, travel agencies and professionals and investors, highlighting the agreement that will bring Caravaca de la Cruz 4,800 tourists Austrians next year, thanks to the closed operation between the Autonomous Community and the tour operator 'Iris Tours', which will charter charter flights from Austria to the International Airport of the Region.
Other outstanding agreements are the one that will displace 2,500 Australian or 700 English tourists to Caravaca.
Likewise, there was also a meeting with organizers of the 'Imserso' program, which will move 50,000 people to Caravaca in the next four years.
"The work prior to the fair and in the course of it is key so that participation in this type of macro events translates into real results in the form of numbers, agreements and projects," said Councilor for Communication and Strategic Projects 2024 and spokesman for the Government team, José Santiago Villa.
In recent months the Consistory worked on the development of closed, general and thematic tourist packages, reflected in a dossier with a new image that has enjoyed great acceptance.
Specifically, three general routes of one, two and three days were offered, which include the resources of the natural, historical and cultural heritage not only of the municipality, but also the attractions of the neighboring places of the Northwest Region.
In the new dossier of resources and visits to Caravaca premiered at FITUR, in addition to those of a general nature, the Department of Tourism of the City Council has included programs of 'Theatrical visits', the activity 'How a Horse of Wine is dressed' and the agenda of the main events of the year.
José Santiago Villa has added that "in addition to looking for media impact and institutional support, the fair was attended with an intense work agenda, in which the technical professionals of the City Council and the Autonomous Community have had a key and direct participation ".
On the other hand, FITUR 2020 -which has broken record of participation in its forty anniversary with 255,000 visitors- also served for the City of Caravaca to hold meetings with the main cruise passengers in Cartagena and with the 'Vacation Club' of 'El Corte Inglés 'for the inclusion of Caravaca de la Cruz in its cultural circuits.
Likewise, meetings were held with the main national wholesalers and retail agencies.
In its fortieth anniversary, FITUR has registered the largest number of attendance of its trajectory in the exclusively professional days, with 150,011 participants from 140 countries.
The fair thus reaches its best historical figures: 255,000 visitors;
918, regular exhibitors;
11,040 companies, 165 countries and regions, and an international participation of 56%.
