The mayor has echoed the concern raised in recent hours by neighbors after a publication by unofficial sources on a website.
In this regard, the health officials have reported that there is a positive case of a professional, non-resident in the municipality and in isolation at home.
According to the latest official data, there is no income from coronavirus at the Northwest Regional Hospital of Caravaca
One of the topics addressed at the Police Coordination Table were inspection measures to enforce the rules of the Royal Decree regarding the protection of workers of those companies and factories that can continue their activity.
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz held a Police Coordination Table to enforce the measures of the State of Alarm and address various issues and policies related to the measures for the prevention of Coronavirus.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, recounts through the local media or official social networks the efforts and measures that are being adopted in the coronavirus crisis within the municipal powers.
"Transparency and information to the citizen is more fundamental than ever, because this is everyone's business. And within our limitations and because it is an unprecedented situation, we are trying to be close and fulfill our responsibility to our neighbors" , has declared.
In the first place, the mayor has referred to "some data published this morning on a web page that did not come from official sources and that have caused a chain of messages and aroused concern among many neighbors who are contacting us."
"We have contacted official sources and, for the moment, there is no admission to the Northwestern Comarcal Hospital of the inhabitants of Caravaca. They indicate a mild positive case of a health professional, not resident in our municipality and who has no connection staff with Caravaca, who is in isolation at his home in another town that is not ours and with all the preventive protocols in place by the health authorities, "he said.
The mayor has communicated that the health authorities are punctually informed about the number of cases in the Region and, according to the latest official data last night, there was no admission to the Regional Hospital.
For this reason, the mayor has continued to call for calm, highlighting the importance of the responsible and prudent role of both society and the media themselves.
José Francisco García has reiterated his gratitude to the entire Caravan society and has continued to appeal to social responsibility to "continue to face this new and difficult situation. A maximum effort is required from all, at least, during the 15 days of the State of Alarm in which public health is the priority ".
Coordination Table
The Caravaca de la Cruz City Council convened an extraordinary Police Coordination Table in order to enhance coordination between the State Security Forces and Bodies, monitor the situation and ensure the proper application of the Royal Decree of the State of Alarm approved by the Council of Ministers of the Government of Spain for 15 days.
The table - convened urgently at the request of the Government Delegation - was chaired by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, and was attended by the officers of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, as well as the councilor responsible for the area of Citizen Security and Traffic, José Santiago Villa.
José Santiago Villa explained that "after the declaration of the State of Alarm, the Security Forces and Bodies -including the Local Police- are under the orders and sole command of the Ministry of the Interior in order to guarantee compliance with the measures in the whole of the national territory. "
"The objective of this meeting has been to coordinate actions that are being carried out in the municipality, paying special attention to measures related to limitations on people's freedom of movement and prohibitions on opening establishments that do not supply first-class goods need, "he added.
In this sense, he has detailed that one hundred percent of the workforce is part of the special operation, carrying out controls so that both individuals and companies comply with the regulations established for the protection of public health, applying the stipulated sanctions to those who do not respect them.
Factory and company inspections
At the initiative of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council, one of the main issues addressed during the safety meeting was the actions aimed at protecting workers in the industrial sector, since in the last hours the mayor has maintained contact with professionals from the footwear sector, among others, who had conveyed their concern in this regard.
In this sense, within the measures already underway, the Security Forces and Bodies have begun inspections in factories and companies, which must abide by the rules and prohibitions contained in the Royal Decree.
"It is a complex situation that we all have to adapt to temporarily so that prevention measures are as effective as possible," José Santiago Villa said.
Companies that by their nature can continue operating during the State of Alarm are obliged to adopt a series of protective, organizational and preventive measures that temporarily avoid situations of social contact, keeping the physical safety distance of more of a meter and equipping its workers with the individual protection equipment (PPE) necessary in each case.
