The Municipal Budget plans to allocate the surplus to a containment fund to help alleviate the serious effects of the coronavirus crisis on the local economy.
The Department of Finance and Economic Planning of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has announced the suspension of the due dates scheduled for April 5 and 20, which include direct debits, subdivisions and payment plans of the different municipal taxes.
This is one of the extraordinary measures that the Caravaqueño City Council is activating to support residents, freelancers and companies established in the town.
"In this way, we contribute to the fact that the taxes do not suppose an additional expense in the homes of the caravaqueños; especially in those where the situation is more complicated, within this absolutely exceptional scenario marked by the health and economic and social crisis of the Coronavirus , which is directly affecting business activity and employment, "as the first deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Planning and Finance, José Carlos Gómez, has pointed out.
The objective, José Carlos Gómez added, "is to continue to materialize through concrete actions the commitment of the local Government Team with the residents of Caravaca de la Cruz in this fight against the abrupt stoppage of the activity that quarantine entails as a result of the global pandemic due to the Covid virus 19 ".
The measures in which the Finance and Economic Planning area works are aimed at the approval of public rate and price discounts for all those companies and people who are affected by this situation;
as well as discounts for the payment of the IAE tax or the extension of the term for the payment of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (IVTM).
These actions are added to the review of all municipal tax settlements with the aim that the business and commercial fabric, practically paralyzed, does not have to face payments of certain taxes.
The councilor responsible for the Treasury has also made reference to the variations in the Municipal Budget, which was scheduled to be debated and approved in the plenary session of the Corporation this March, "and now we want the surplus of about 400,000 euros to be destined to containment measures that contribute to alleviating the effects that the Coronavirus crisis will have on the local economy. "
Once the health emergency phase has passed and the State of Alarm, from the Caravaca City Council the information of the aid announced by the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia will also be approached through the municipal technicians, with actions valued at 10 million euros, to lessen the impact of the coronavirus crisis on the regional business fabric, as well as the extraordinary measures that are being approved by the central administration in order to protect and support families, workers, the self-employed and companies.
In this sense, the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia has already enabled the free telephone line 900 700 706 and the email information@info.carm.es to inform and advise entrepreneurs in the Region.
