With activities aimed at all ages, and especially for children, the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has launched an online alternative entertainment program at home.
For this, from the departments of Youth, Sports and Culture have coordinated for this week, from March 30 to April 3, up to a total of 35 different activities, which focus on sport, training workshops, storytelling, games and challenges to enjoy alone or with the family.
"In this way, the Caravaca City Council directly transfers part of the activities that, prior to the preventive measures of the Covid-f19, had been held in public spaces, such as the Youth Center, in sports halls, to the houses of the caravaqueños, in the theater or in the Library. To do this, we have basically pulled imagination and the tools that new technologies provide us so that they can be enjoyed with the family and with the usual monitors ", as explained by the mayor, José Francisco García
The mayor has also pointed out that "the various councils have made an effort to coordinate and have adapted resources in the field of Sports, Culture and Youth to this temporary reality marked by the confinement that we now have to live".
"The objective is none other than to make the neighbors more bearable these dates in which our daily life has been absolutely altered and to encourage them, in this way, to continue with the exemplary behavior they are having"
José Francisco García explained that in the first days of the crisis, "the attention of the local government team focused on reordering, reinforcing and enhancing basic basic services, such as Security, the shock plan for disinfecting public roads or social assistance services to the most vulnerable groups, but we also want to offer municipal alternatives to the hundreds of people who stay home one day after another, fulfilling their duty of social isolation at this time of health alarm. "
Boys and girls occupy a leading role in this alternative leisure program, with proposals that range from the 'Storytelling' of the Municipal Library to the workshops on emotional intelligence, painting, experiments, cooking or the creation of a newspaper by the Youth Center. .
Sport at home also centers a prominent part of the new municipal online programming, with classes directed at Gerontogimnasia, Generica, Pilates, Rhythmic Gymnastics or Chess, as well as routines and training for different disciplines such as Basketball, Soccer, Futsal, Triathlon, Dance Modern or Skates.
The team of monitors from the Sports Schools of the Department of Sports will participate in these classes.
Depending on the theme, the activities can be followed live and completely free of charge by social networks and specifically, through the Instagram account of the Department of Sports (@deportecaravaca), the Facebook account Caravaca Library, and the account on Instagram of the Department of Youth (@centrojovencaravaca).
In addition to the 35 activities proposed, every Saturday and Sunday, at 6:00 p.m., we play 'Trivial caravaqueño' on Instagram from the Instagram account of the Youth Center and every day, on the Library's Facebook account, the challenge arises' Caravaca, its history and its streets ".
