The tasks are mainly focused on places of transit and rotation of people, such as the Health Center, the Regional Hospital, pharmacies, supermarkets, the Bus Station, emergency services, and also where especially vulnerable population groups remain, such as the Residence of Elderly or APCOM center and residence
To carry out the tasks, the Department of Public Services has operators and specific machinery, as well as the important contribution of volunteer farmers who have made tractors with sprayers available to the City Council
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz intensifies the disinfection tasks in sensitive areas and in outdoor areas of essential services that remain open during this period of alarm caused by the spread of the coronavirus.
"The objective of the Disinfection Shock Plan -which has been carried out since the beginning of the health crisis and which we are now strengthening to the best of our ability- is to act mainly in those areas of the urban area and the districts where there is an inevitable transit of people and therefore there can be a COVID-19 presence ", as detailed by the councilor for Public Services, Mónica Sánchez.
"To carry out these works, we have maintenance and cleaning service operators exclusively dedicated to it, equipped with specific vehicles and machinery, such as gearboxes or spray packs with disinfectant, something that greatly streamlines the important task of prevent viral load on the streets. "
The mayor has also reported that the initial forecast of tasks is being interrupted by the abundant presence of rain in recent days, which makes the treatment stop being effective, if applied at that time, so the plan is constantly review and update to do the best possible.
The Caravaqueño Town Hall highlights the important help that farmers in the municipality are providing in this emergency situation, which is also coordinated by the Department of Agriculture under the technical supervision of Urban Environment.
"In addition to the municipal operators, we have received the most important support from volunteers, who have offered altruistically both the machinery and their work and effort to this end, not only from professionals in the sector, with tractors equipped with sprayers, but also from neighbors that they have yielded agricultural and gardening machinery that is useful to reinforce the works ", highlighted the mayor Mónica Sánchez, who stressed that" in this sense the solidarity and direct collaboration of the Caravaqueño society with the City Council is an essential result to reach to all the places of interest of our extensive municipality ".
Another important reinforcement received by the Municipal Disinfection Plan was the one provided by the 45 personnel, with 12 vehicles, displaced to Caravaca by the Government of the Region of Murcia, through its General Directorate for the Natural Environment, belonging to the Units to Fight Forest Fires.
The Plan acts in sensitive and external areas of essential services
The Shock Plan works following the recommendations and guidelines set by the Health Department of the Region of Murcia and for this reason, it works repeatedly in sensitive areas where there is transit and rotation of people or presence of groups especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.
These places are the Health Center and Comarcal del Noroeste Hospital, the Bernal Hospital, pharmacies, supermarkets, industrial estates, the Nursing Home and the APCOM day center and residence, the Municipal Cemetery, Bus Station, as well as in the emergency services (Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Fire Station).
Disinfection measures also extend to urban furniture and elements of the public road that may be touched, such as benches, children's games, canopies, railings, screens, etc.
The street cleaning service continues its normal operation
On the other hand, street cleaning and domestic waste collection continues to be provided daily with normality, maintaining 100% of the service.
Although from the start of the health alert, work with blowing machines was prohibited to prevent the spread of particles that could be housed on public roads.
