It seems as if, in the face of such a serious catastrophe, we need to unite to feel stronger with acts that identify us at the group level.Many of us have come out onto the balconies to applaud our health workers, the security forces and, in general, all the groups considered essential for their work and dedication, not without the risk of infection due to their increased exposure to the virus.There was no lack of melodies and songs such as " Resistiré ", popularized since 1988 by the Dynamic Duo, "Que viva España" that Manolo Escobar sang or even the official hymn of Spain, used in most cases as a manifestation of that collective feeling of strength and courage.The current situation has several coincidences with the terrible pandemic that the world suffered between 1918 and 1920, the badly called Spanish flu, which caused millions of deaths worldwide and had devastating effects added to those caused by the end of the First World War.

One is that, as has happened with covid-19, the pandemic of more than a hundred years ago was little appreciated in its beginnings by all the countries of the world, hence its dire consequences.
