| The awards ceremony will take place this Friday and, for security and capacity reasons, the prize-winners will attend with a companion | To maintain the enthusiasm of children and despite the fact that the patron saint festivities could not be celebrated, the drawing and literary creation contests of the Almoravides head were convened, as has been happening for 39 years The Almorávides cabal, with the collaboration of the Department of Culture and Celebrations, the Celebration Commission and the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz and with the sponsorship of various companies and entities, launched its traditional painting contests through social networks and literature last April. The works presented are exhibited until this Thursday, June 25, from 7:00 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m.
at the Casa de la Cultura 'Emilio Sáez', and the awards ceremony, which will only be attended by the winners accompanied by an adult for security and capacity issues, will take place on Friday, June 26, at 8:00 p.m. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced many activities to be suspended and lifestyle changes.
The suspension of the Fiestas de la Vera Cruz and the impossibility of carrying out the Cultural Week that the Almorávides party organized made this festive group adapt the bases of the calls for their artistic expression competitions, both drawing and painting, as well as literature, and finally two separate contests were launched through social networks.
From Early Childhood Education to ESO, numerous jobs arrived through emails. "We have not been able to parade, the wine horses could not run on the Castle slope, nor could we accompany Vera Cruz in her processions, but the pandemic could not stop the illusion that we live each year during these dates of preparation for our Patronal festivities in each house, nor the joy with which children and adults always live these days; for this reason, the Almorávides kabyle, as it has been doing for 39 years, maintained, this year also, its drawing and painting competitions as well as the one of literary creation so that children and young people could express their experiences of the Fiestas de la Cruz through drawings, stories or poetry ", they affirm from the Culture Commission of the Kabila Almorávides. The Cultural Week reaches its 39th edition and on this occasion, the drawings and literary texts were sent by email to the organizing committee, and were published on the Facebook page of the Kabila Almorávides.
As in previous years, the winning works, in both contests, will be published in a booklet that will be distributed at the award ceremony. From the Kabila Almorávides they want to give their thanks for the support they have always received from the institutions (City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through the Department of Culture and Celebrations; Real and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz; of the Commission of Celebrations), as well as entities and companies that each year have made it possible with their contributions that Cultural Week can be maintained.
They also send an effusive congratulation to all the participants in two contests, both for their quality and for having reflected in their drawings and texts the experiences of this special and different year.
"These works are part of our recent history and will be a vestige of what we have experienced this year because of the pandemic," Almorávides comments from the report.
