The Minister for Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas, met today with the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, to discuss the current situation of employment in the municipality and learn first-hand how they will face the coming months before the consequences of the Covid-19. The Ministry of Employment, Research and Universities, through the Employment and Training Service (SEF), has awarded grants this year to the City of Caravaca de la Cruz for the development of four employment programs.
These initiatives, which total 224,788 euros, have provided a job opportunity to 21 unemployed people, most of them belonging to groups that find it more difficult to access the labor market, such as the unemployed over 45, young people and the long-term unemployed.
These people have worked for six months in different departments of the local administration. Likewise, more than 200 people have obtained qualifications this year with the SEF in the 17 training actions that have been launched in the municipality, thanks to a grant that amounts to 94,000 euros.
All of them have offered training in the sectors that generate the most employment in the municipality, such as hospitality and tourism, textiles and leather clothing.
