The meeting between the general director of Sports and the councilors of the branch, held in the Caracas City Council, has had the objective of gathering the opinion of the levels of the sports community to finalize the regional regulations that will govern the COVID-19 prevention protocol The Councilor for Sports in Caravaca, José Fernández Tudela, has stated that "regional competitions, both in the absolute and grassroots category, as well as sports schools, could begin between the months of November and December, always subject to the evolution of the pandemic and the regulations that will be dictated by the national and regional administrations " Collecting the opinions and suggestions of the sports community to prepare the regional protocol that will ensure the safety of these activities has been the main objective of the meeting held between the town councils of the Northwest and Río Mula regions and the Autonomous Community, a meeting held at the Caravaca de la Cruz Town Hall. The general director of Sports, Fran Sánchez, and the councilors of the branch of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Moratalla, Calasparra, Bullas, Mula, Campos del Río, Pliego and Albudeite, have analyzed the rules and actions to be followed, according to the type of activities and ages of participants. The Councilor for Sports of the Caravaca City Council, José Fernández Tudela, has stated that any event to be held must have express authorization from the General Directorate of Sports. At the national level, the Higher Sports Council and the different federations have completed the protocol that will govern them.
At the regional level, both teams and athletes participating in national competitions can train following the rules established in each case by their respective federations. Fernández Tudela has announced that the absolute regional competitions for those over 18 years of age will begin around the month of November, and the training sessions between 4 and 6 weeks before the competition begins. "As for the autonomous competitions of the categories under 18 years of age as well as the Sports Schools, they would begin around the month of December," reported Tudela, who has detailed that these trainings would begin between 4 and 6 weeks before so staggered, being individualized, without contact with other people, without the use of material and without the use of changing rooms. The Councilor for Sports has clarified that this reincorporation calendar and the protocols to be followed will be subject to the evolution of the health situation, taking into account the recommendations of the Superior Sports Council and the regulations of the Autonomous Community.
"The development of the pandemic will set the guidelines to follow, since it is difficult to know what will happen in the medium term," he concluded.
