The Camino de la Cruz de Caravaca Foundation has allocated 46,000 euros to provide special state-of-the-art showcases to this series of six works that are exhibited in the Sacred Art Museum of the Basilica-Sanctuary of the Vera Cruz. The showcases, made in Germany, have a sustainable system based on silica that does not consume electrical energy and that places this equipment at the level of the best museums in Europe. The Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, José Francisco García, and the older sister of the Cofradía de la Santísima y Vera Cruz, Maria Carmen López, presided over the presentation of the new showcases , designed to ensure optimal thermal, humidity, security and lighting conditions for the conservation of the boards that narrate 'The Miracle of Vera Cruz de Caravaca'. Cristina Sánchez explained that the inauguration of these showcases is "a historic milestone for heritage in the Region of Murcia, guaranteeing the future of one of its great cultural symbols and allowing the viewer to enjoy these works of art in the best conditions lighting and visibility ". The installation of the showcases joins the action plan led by the 'Camino de la Cruz' Foundation to "promote knowledge and conservation of the Region of Murcia and Caravaca de la Cruz as a cultural and pilgrimage destination, betting on the enhancement of its heritage, as well as the creation and improvement of infrastructures and the organization of cultural, environmental, sports and leisure events.
