This academic year will grant aids for a total amount of 25,000 hours, destined to Primary, Secondary, University Studies, Professional Training and Special Regime teachings (Music, Languages, Theater or Dance).
Since the end of the 1980s, the Caracas Foundation has granted more than 2,000 grants, for an amount close to 700,000 euros. The beneficiaries are proposed by the directors of the educational centers, as the best connoisseurs of their aptitudes, or at their own request, presenting the application form and the required documentation in the General Register of the City Council, where the regulatory bases of the call are also available . The amounts that can be chosen are 90 euros for Primary and Secondary education; 200 for post-compulsory education and 700 for university studies. The board of trustees of the foundation values ??the best academic records, but also other aspects of support for families, such as large or single parents, that the parents are unemployed or that one of the members has a disability. To be a beneficiary of the scholarships, it will be necessary to meet the academic and economic requirements established in the bases of the call, which indicates, among other aspects, that the student must be, at least, 10 years old and be registered in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz. The 'Alfami' board of trustees has to faithfully comply with the will of Alfonso López Álvarez, whose will was to create a charitable foundation designed to support students without resources, so that these grants can be granted each year.
