" The initial proposal presented by the Seggitur society, at the request of the Caravacan City Council and the Murcia Region Tourism Council, is structured around key elements such as promoting the differential values ??of Caravaca de la Cruz compared to other competing destinations and improve its position in the national and international tourism sphere, through the application of information and communication technologies and other tools. Adherence, at this time of strong impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, represents the commitment of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council to renew and invest in different alternatives that make it possible to know the updated offer of the sector, favor the management of reserves and purchase, ensure safe mobility and warn the local population and future visitors of the new sanitary measures. The implementation of the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) management model in the municipality involves a comprehensive strategy, which is supervised by the Segittur state company, dependent on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The Department of Tourism of the Autonomous Community will also assist in the implementation of the model, supporting consultancy and self-diagnosis tasks, as well as the launch of a training program for managers of the destination that will include specific conferences on sustainability, accessibility, technology, tourism intelligence and innovation and that will also have the contribution of universities and private companies. SEGITTUR contributes to the development, modernization and maintenance of the tourism industry.
