The general director of the Natural Environment, Fulgencio Perona, today visited the fixed surveillance point 'El Nevazo', in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz, where the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment develops works in the facilities with the aim of improving the surveillance network as part of the prevention and defense device against forest fires.Perona stressed that "these improvement works represent an important investment in maintenance and adaptation, adapting the surveillance point to the new needs and obligations in terms of health and safety of the personnel who carry out their work in them, and with an investment of about 105,000 euros, part of which comes from European Funds (EAFRD) ".The facility is being redistributed over three floors and has a garage to store the vehicle on the ground floor; toilet and wardrobe; rest room; kitchen and dining room; and 360 degree surveillance zone on the upper floor.Perona recalled that the General Directorate of the Natural Environment "manages 20 fixed surveillance points distributed throughout the regional territory.
These infrastructures represent a significant investment in terms of maintenance, improvement and adaptation, and year after year they are being improved and complemented".
