| The Department of Sports announces three lines of aid, which have been published in the BORM and can be consulted on the electronic site of the City Council, adding a global amount of 43,000 euros | The subsidies -which are awarded according to some bases with some scales to ensure equal opportunities- are intended to support caravaqueños athletes in their training and career, as well as to encourage associations and the promotion of official competitions as an engine of sports tourism The Caravaca de la Cruz City Council, through its Department of Sports, announces subsidies to individual athletes, federated sports clubs and associations or organizations organizing competitions, for which it allocates the global amount of 43,000 euros from the 2020 municipal budget.
The regulatory bases have been published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia and are also available for consultation and download at the electronic office of the Consistory. The aim of these annual grants is to support Caravacan athletes in their training and career in regional, national and / or international events.
Likewise, their mission is to promote sports associations and the organization of events, which are also energizers of the local economy as an engine of sports tourism. The Councilor for Sports, Pepe Fernández Tudela, explained that "the local clubs carry out important social and educational work; they contribute to the promotion of sports practice and leave the name of Caravaca de la Cruz in a good place by numerous points of the Spanish geography and other countries, as well as individual athletes or associations that promote events that are already a reference for thousands of people in different disciplines ". Subsidies to federated sports clubs / entities of Caravaca de la Cruz have a budget allocation of 19,500 euros, without any beneficiary being able to exceed the maximum amount of 7,800 euros, previously justifying the total cost.
For its part, aid to individual athletes has been endowed with 8,500 euros, granting an amount not exceeding 1,500 euros per person.
The deadline to apply for both types of subsidies ends on November 16. There are also subsidies to clubs or associations organizing sporting events, for which 15,000 euros are allocated per year, without exceeding the amount of 5,000 euros per applicant.
The eligible period is 2019 and the deadline to apply for them ends on November 11. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis to guarantee equal opportunities, in accordance with objective criteria set out in the bases that regulate the call.
Thus, for example, in the case of individual athletes, sporting merits are taken into account, such as having participated in championships in Spain, Europe or the World or having podiums in national or international events, among other aspects. Those interested in any of the three calls announced by the Department of Sports of the Caracas Consistory must submit a request, together with the required documentation, through the electronic headquarters of the City Council.
It can also be done in person at the General Register of the City Council or through any of the means established in the Law of Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
