These works combine and reinforce the ordinary daily tasks and also the extraordinary ones that from the start of the health alert are carried out outside of busy areas, essential services and residences. The councilors of Public Services and Works, Mónica Sánchez and José Antonio García, have reported that these specific actions are carried out once a week by neighborhoods, acting on sidewalks, public roads, urban furniture and other contact surfaces.
For this, the Local Police warns in advance by means of signs to the neighbors in those areas where it is necessary to remove vehicles. To carry out this intense cleaning and disinfection in neighborhoods and districts, there are four operators and cleaning, sweeping and brushcutting machinery.
The tasks include flushing with water and disinfectant, sweeping, clearing, as well as other complementary beautification tasks with removal of graffiti and posters in public spaces. This action by sectors of the municipality began at the end of October in the Buena Vista and Nueva Caravaca urbanizations and continued through the Pedro García-Esteller park area, Archivel (from the IES Oróspeda to the Plaza de España), the Camino del Huerto neighborhood and El Hoyo neighborhood.
On a weekly basis, it will continue through the rest of the sectors or planned areas, following a plan similar to that of the shock cleaning carried out last year. Councilors Mónica Sánchez and José Antonio García have pointed out that these works do not interfere with daily cleaning or the Municipal Disinfection Plan, but rather come to reinforce it and to act more intensely in neighborhoods and districts. Since the beginning of the health alert, the work has been adapted to the circumstances and priorities, acting continuously, mainly at dawn, outside places of risk, such as the Hospital and the Health Center or the homes for the elderly and dependent people, as well as in educational centers and in commercial areas and essential services with the highest turnover of people.
In addition, it also operates on public roads with a tractor equipped with an atomizer.
