The University of Murcia and the City Council of Caravaca have signed this Monday the agreement that creates the Permanent Headquarters for University Extension of the University of Murcia in the municipality, headquarters that was created with the aim of organizing cultural, sports and transfer of knowledge from different fields in the locality.
The rector of the UMU, Jos Luj n, and the mayor of Caravaca, Jos Francisco Garc a, have been in charge of signing the agreement by which the permanent headquarters number 35 of the academic institution.
Luj n has insisted on the mission that the University has to reach out to all the municipalities of the Region, bringing the knowledge and activity generated in the academic institution to all citizens.
For his part, the mayor explained the importance that the creation of this headquarters has for the municipality, especially for the structuring of the territory, also taking activities to the fourteen districts of the town.
Daniel Garc a Mar n, professor of the Department of Geography University of Murcia, will be the director of the Permanent Headquarters of University Extension in Caravaca.
