The municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz has a wide network of rural roads of municipal ownership very extensive and necessary for the road communication of all its rural environment of vital importance for economic activity, also for the communication of the different districts between them and with the main urban area of ??Caravaca, for access to the large number of agricultural and livestock farms in Caravaca and of course, for rural tourism. In the PSOE we are aware that the rural environment has suffered serious depopulation problems for many years, so we believe the repair and conservation of many of the rural roads is very necessary and urgent to reduce these risks of depopulation Until now, several municipal rural roads have been repaired thanks to European, state and regional co-financing, established in measure 4.3.3, included in the Rural Development Plan (PDR) for the 2014-2020 period, managed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia; But this measure, once the period is over, has proven to be clearly insufficient for our municipality because it has a low budget, uses discriminatory criteria and is too slow, since only the four roads corresponding to the first phase of three have been executed.

For this reason, this municipal group has presented a motion to the plenary session of the Caravaca de la Cruz town hall to request more speed, improvements in the criteria and an increase in the budgets of the Autonomous Community for the conservation and repair of rural roads in the municipality,proposing the following points of agreement: Urge the Regional Government to immediately carry out the works to adapt the rural roads of the Caravaca de la Cruz municipality, which are still pending, included in the second and third calls of the PDR 2014-2020 Urge the regional government to eliminate discriminatory criteria such as the limitation on the length of the road and on the number of roads, which are comparatively harmful for Caravaca and other very large municipalities, for successive calls for the adaptation of rural municipal roads.

. Urge the Regional Government and the Government of Spain to allow the next PDR period to allow greater financing of the works to adapt rural municipal roads, in accordance with the needs of the rural environment of Caravaca and the rest of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia. The Municipal Socialist Group awaits the favorable vote of the rest of the political groups in the Plenary as well as the effort of the Municipal Government to get the conditioning of the largest number of municipal roads in Caravaca.
