Luisfonías and The Sound will present their latest works in two free concerts
Diversons program, the Obra Social "la Caixa", arrives at the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda with two new shows to promote the integration of cultures through music.
The concerts, which will take place on 25 and 26 June, are played by two bands of mixed origin, but of equal quality: Los Soneros, all of Cuban origin, and Lusophone, Portuguese training, free of charge.
The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca, organizer of the concert with "la Caixa", explained that the program Diversons brings together artists and ensembles foreign residents in Spain, with the aim of raising awareness of the music and traditions of their places of origin.
"This initiative is consistent with the rationale of the Music Museum to promote understanding and coexistence between different cultures," said the mayor of Culture.
Formations involved in the program have been presented to the last call organized by the Department of Music at the Obra Social "la Caixa" nationwide.
Subsequently, a jury of experts in world music has been responsible for choosing the seven training for this release and that during the summer months will be touring in different parts of the Spanish geography.
The new call to select the groups for next season is back open and ends in September.
Integration and launching pad
Fundació "la Caixa" this initiative provides the tools necessary for a group to start his career, technical and musical training, and compensation administrative notions of the concerts.
And with the aim of promoting integration and coexistence of cultures, DIVERSONS offers a powerful voice for attractive and valuable to the many performers and ensembles in world music, originating in the most diverse, live and develop their creative approach to our country.
In this sense, DIVERSONS is a launching pad to his musical career.
In fact, some of the groups that have participated in previous editions are now part of the largest program of world music in our country.
In addition, some of them, after passing through the DIVERSONS program are ineligible for other educational projects of the Music Department of Social Work "la Caixa".
Also, through this project, the Obra Social "la Caixa" promotes the dissemination and promotion of world music, through which we approach different cultures, promoting knowledge and facilitate the integration, respect and coexistence.
Since its birth six years ago, the project has led to more than 200 Spanish cities over 600 live concerts to more than 200,000 spectators.
The project has released traditions ranging from Andean music to black Africa, to the music of the Balkans, among others.
Every year, the Department of Music at the Obra Social "la Caixa" opens a new call so that they can present the different proposals.
DIVERSONS groups in Caravaca de la Cruz: June 25
Lusophone
This band was born in Madrid a year ago, when singer Patricia Colaço, after numerous experiences in groups of Latin jazz and Brazilian musicians brought together several different styles to work, from an acoustic sound and different materials that would have the common element Portuguese language, probably one of the most musical in the world.
From here, the group (composed of an eclectic accordionist, a jazz bassist and guitarist looking for connections between flamenco and Brazilian music, plus the singer guilty of all this) conducted research that led him to concentrate Fado in Lisbon, traditional songs of the Alentejo region of Portugal, the Cape Verdean morna, the Angolan Semba choro or Rio.
Urban and rural proposals, paused or rhythmic, genuine or mixed, the Lusophone musical universe is full of nuances and rich sounds of this quartet puts it, perfectly, within our reach in a single session.
Los Soneros
The traditional repertoire Cuban on the island proudly qualify as folk, is that recovers the group Los Soneros, after years of research in the archives of the music of the island and to rescue the legacy of composers like Ignacio Piñeiro Nico Saquito, Miguel Matamoros and Arsenio Rodriguez.
The obvious devotion to the traditional sound authentic Cuban musicians show joins the versatile voice of Ramón Fabián, who developed a consistent career in Cuba before starting this new project.
In the early twentieth century, Cuban music has consolidated a group format that made his fortune and that the exceptional vocal games linking African and Spanish influences, they added an unstoppable combination of melodic instruments (Spanish guitar, Cuban tres, trumpet ... ) and rhythmic (bass, maracas, bells ...).
Under such a structure that would become classical styles were developed as the guaracha or bolero, directly derived from the traditional Son Montuno born in Sierra Maestra.
