The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has received the support of the Regional Assembly for the implementation of Vocational Training Middle Grade Technical Footwear and Fashion Accessories in the IES 'Gines Perez Chirinos'.
The motion, which was unanimously supported by the members of the Committee on Education and Culture, reflects the demands made from the caravaqueño Consistory aimed at improving the training and get a qualification that provides added value to the quality and design of the product, avoiding so that certain tasks in the production chain have to be performed outside the municipality due to lack of skilled workers.
In this sense, the mayor, Jose Moreno, thanked the favorable response from all political groups represented in the Assembly, "because the footwear sector has a number of needs that the different administrations must address from a joint strategy that can generate more stable jobs and quality and create greater wealth in the Northwest ".
Moreno has also sought to recognize the efforts of the entrepreneurs themselves, who in recent years have been making a firm commitment to improve the product and open new markets.
Currently, there are only two schools with specific modules for the training of professionals in the manufacture of footwear, located in Valencia, specifically in the municipalities of Elche and Elda.
The module Technician Training Footwear and Fashion Accessories covers the entire manufacturing process, as well as the training required to perform various occupations and career opportunities related to the sector.
Shoe-making has traditionally been one of the economic bases of the municipality, currently being in a process of consolidation, development and evolution as a modern and solvent industry.
This industry has in the Northwest Region with a total of 45 companies, of which 30 are direct manufacturers and 15 assistants in the Northwest.
