The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Jose Moreno, accompanied by the mayor of Employment, Julia Gimenez, met with the president of the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICES), José Monzonís, and the directive Industry Association Alpargatera Footwear and the Northwest Region, headed by Manuel Polo.

Jose Moreno said after the meeting that the association that brings together manufacturers of footwear and related companies at the Northwest Region sector has recently joined FICES, in order to improve aspects such as national and international promotion or improvement training.

Also, the mayor welcomed this first visit of José Monzonís to the city and very positively assessed the development of the footwear sector: "That is experiencing an upward development, with quality products implemented in international markets."

Monzonís, leader of the employers in the sector, then held a meeting with local entrepreneurs to show the measures contained in the Strategic Plan Spanish Footwear and support lines, as a new system for collection management with international clients.
