The Department of Health of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz reports that the Regional Blood Donation Center moves to the next town on 5 and 12 August.
Caravaqueños can donate blood on those dates, from 17.30 to 21.30, in the outpatient clinic Northwest Regional Hospital.
The summer of blood donation campaign started last June 14 on the occasion of the celebration of World Blood Donor Day and coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the regional center.
"This initiative aims to ensure the supply to hospitals during the summer, which significantly increases the need for blood components", said the mayor of Health, Maria Jose Soria, who wanted to encourage residents of the municipality Caravaca to do, once again displayed their solidarity and contribute their donation to meet the needs of blood from hospitals in the Autonomous Community, where it is estimated that every day an average of 250/300 extraction is required.
In the first half of 2016 they collected a total of 27,197 blood donations, compared to 24,889 in 2015, representing more than 3,308 extractions.
The requirements to donate are between 18 and 65 years and weighing less than 50 kilograms, not anemic and be in good health, however, each donor will undergo a medical examination before carrying out the donation of blood.
