Councillor for Agriculture and Environment in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Enrique Fuentes, attended the 42nd edition of the Fair Sheep Segureño Huescar, organized by the National Sheep Breeders Association Segureño (ANCOS).
The event gathered more than 42 cattle ranches of Granada, Jaen and Almeria, as well as some areas of Murcia, among which is Caravaca were given.
Caravaca de la Cruz and Huéscar share an interest in promoting and spreading the benefits of segureña sheep breed, through fairs and other initiatives to support the sector.
This is a breed characterized by high hardiness and high production levels, which has helped maintain significant levels of purity in the difficult environment in which operates.
Quality and traceability of the product is recognized by the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
