The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Employment and in collaboration with the Association of Footwear Industries, Jute and Allied, has taught the course 'Craft shoe sewn by hand.

The course, developed in the Municipal Center for Employment and Training, has had a eminently practical content focused on learning the traditional technique of sewing with jute.
We have also studied other aspects of the sector, such as the types of footwear and materials, types of needle and thread, and has taught a seminar on cooperatives, by technicians of the Union of Cooperatives of Murcia (UCOMUR).
The course, which was attended by 15 people unemployed, has aimed to improve training in the footwear sector and promote a generational change in the people who know and play this technique historically has worked in the town of Caravaca from the cross.
