The neighbor of Caravaca de la Cruz Guirado Sanchez Pascuala receive next October 27 the "Mayor Award ', awarded by the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Autonomous Community, a proposal the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
"From the Department of Social Services we would not hesitate to nominate Pascuala Guirado to qualify for these awards for a lifetime of humble and quiet work, dedicated to others, and his work on behalf of the neediest social groups and for equal opportunities for men and women, "said Councilwoman Maria Jose Soria.
Pascuala Guirado was born in 1936 in the nearby town Bullas, but resides in Caravaca de la Cruz for almost 60 years, where on arrival formed a large group of young militants in movements Brotherhood Workers of Catholic Action (HOAc) and Young Christian Workers (JOC).
Guirao has also been active in the union Comisiones Obreras, playing different positions.
Since 1959 he has been a catechist and instructor of youth and children, promoting activities such as hiking and camping.
In 1962 caravaqueños Workers Cooperative (CIOC), which Pascuala was founded and where he worked until his retirement, claiming equality in pay between women and men was created.
In 2010 he began his work as a volunteer in Caritas in the parish of El Salvador, charity which is currently secretary.
Although marital status is single, it belongs to the Association of Widows of Caravaca, actively participating in its activities.
The award ceremony will take place at 11 am the next day on October 27 at the Auditorium Victor Villegas de Murcia.
