González Tovar said that the success of the Jubilee Year depends a lot on the cultural and tourist promotion that requires an event of this level, and support for the City of Caravaca has to be reflected in the budgets of the Autonomous Community
The secretary general of the PSOE-RM and spokesman of the Socialist Group, Rafael González Tovar, has shown its full support to the City of Caravaca de la Cruz on the challenges that the municipality ahead, as the celebration of the Jubilee Year 2017 and improvement infrastructure to gain access to this tourist destination.
"We must consolidate Caravaca de la Cruz and alleviate the abandonment that this municipality and the entire Northwest region has suffered by the Popular Party," stated González Tovar, who along with regional deputies Isabel Casalduero, Choni Ludeña and Jesus Navarro, it has met with the mayor of Caravaca, Jose Moreno.
"Undoubtedly, the success of the Jubilee Year depends a lot on the cultural and tourist promotion that requires an event of this level. The support for the council must be reflected obviously in the budgets of the Autonomous Community of the coming years", he noted .
According to González Tovar, this way, the session will deal with the costs of this event, which will be beneficial to the Northwest region and for the whole region of Murcia.
"We hope that the regional government is not stingy with Caravaca and understand the strategic importance of the Jubilee Year project to consolidate the religious and historical tourism in this city and throughout the Northwest," he said.
Among the most important projects to improve infrastructure, it highlighted the widening of the road Caravaca;
the construction of a new bridge over the river Argos;
the culmination of the Northwest highway, extending it to the industrial estate Cavila;
the project of the highway north and creating a way station next to the bandstand to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and tourists.
He recalled that all these projects have been requested by the mayor of Caravaca to the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure.
On the other hand, he commented that Caravaca need a local employment plan, including the implementation of vocational training modules in line with the reality of the Northwest, a sectoral council of the footwear industry, and the creation of a promotion center entrepreneurial initiatives to encourage young entrepreneurs streamlining bureaucratic procedures.
In addition, it stressed the need to expand the hospital, with the purchase of a new scanner, expansion of 20 beds and oncology service.
For its part, the mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno, has requested direct funding for the council of the municipality for the Jubilee Year, "such an important year, not only for Caravaca, but for the whole region of Murcia."
"We can not fight City Hall alone as the organization of this event, we must be on the daily lives of the pilgrims who require facilities, police reinforcements and cleaning, security and health," he added.
Finally, he recalled that Caravaca has only one entry from the highway, "which creates a huge collapse at peak hours, and with the Jubilee Year, the collapse will be secured".
"We need the entrance to the municipality to unfold and a second input that allows a redistribution of traffic and avoid these meltdowns believed" he concluded the mayor.
