The Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest, integrated by the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Calasparra, Cehegín and Moratalla, provides various programs in educational centers, within the Regional Plan for Drug Addiction Prevention, funded by the Ministry of Health.
In particular, the 'Cinema and education in values' workshop has been initiated, aimed at the students of 1st and 2nd year of ESO, in which, through projections and subsequent gatherings, cinema is used as a tool that helps In the process of socialization of the child, transmitting reference models.
On the other hand, another program has also been launched, aimed at 3rd and 4th grade students from ESO and Basic Training, aimed at the prevention of drug and alcohol use.
During the sessions in the classroom, the myths and realities linked to alcohol and tobacco are addressed, different types of drugs are classified according to the effect they produce in the brain and healthy leisure alternatives are shown.
The technicians responsible for the development of the program also analyze the influence of the media and publicity, as well as the pressure exerted by the peer group when starting to use addictive substances.
Finally, the 'Argos' program will also be launched, whose target group is the 1st grade students, in which teachers and medical staff carry out different activities with the motto 'Alcohol awareness with science'.
