The convocations of neighborhood meetings begin in Archivel on February 13
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz promotes the setting up of neighborhood councils, understood as an advisory body of an assemblage character, which promotes citizen participation and the direct intervention of neighbors in municipal matters of public interest.
In this regard, the councilor responsible for directing the area of ​​Transparency and Citizen Participation, Gloria Gómez, said that "local administrations are the closest to the citizen and therefore, from the City of Caravaca we promote, promote and innovate citizen participation, Convinced that a good government action involves the involvement of citizens in projects that affect the present and future of their cities. "
"That is why we request the collaboration and involvement of the neighbors in the neighborhood meetings already called and in which, from now on, they will be celebrated on a regular basis," he stressed.
The first meetings will take place in the districts, in order to decentralize decision-making and bring political life closer to all inhabitants of the municipality.
The calendar established by the Department of Transparency and Citizen Participation begins in Archivel (February 13), Navares (February 16), Barranda (February 20), La Encarnación (February 23) and Pinilla (March 2).
All the calls are at 20.00 in the respective social centers.
The local councils have as territorial scope the demarcation of the hamlet and exercise the powers conferred by the mayor or the municipal plenary, being an initiative, consultative or control in matters such as primary health care, protection of the environment, provision of Services and repairs, maintenance of public gardens, proposals for investments in municipal budgets and granting of aid for cultural, educational and festive events, among others.
The neighborhood meetings are composed of the president, secretary and neighbors with legal capacity.
The mayor will be the president of the assembly, being able to delegate in one of the councilors of the equipment of Government.
The sessions of these citizen participation bodies may be ordinary, semi-annual and extraordinary, whenever justified by the need and urgency of it.
Within each neighborhood meeting, work committees may be set up on a permanent or temporary basis, depending on the interests and needs of the territorial area.
