The anti-smoking program 'Healthy Travel', promoted by the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, celebrates its tenth anniversary in order to prevent drug use and promote healthy habits of life among adolescents.
The Youth Department has launched a new edition of this project, with the participation of 60 young people.
'Healthy journey' seeks the active participation of young people in prevention, as they voluntarily assume a double commitment: to attend workshops and talks that are scheduled over eight months and not smoking during the duration of the program, undergoing Periodic checks.
The name of 'Healthy Journey' is a way of rewarding students who successfully reach the final phase of the program, as they participate in a leisure activity outside the locality and also enter a drawing to participate each summer In a European youth meeting.
All the initiatives framed in this project are coordinated by the doctor of the Comarcal Hospital of the Northwest Sandro Guachi and by the technicians of the Department of Youth of the City council of Caravaca de la Cruz.
More than 600 young people, 4 ESO courses, have participated in the ten editions of the 'Healthy Trip', a program included in the Municipal Drug Addiction Plan.
