With the exhibition 'Culture and Women' the activities commemorating the International Women's Day, promoted by the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz begin next Monday, March 6.
The Councilor for Social Services and Women, María José Soria, has advanced that this painting exhibition, organized with the collaboration of 'Cultural Mecenazgo', will remain open to the public until March 17 at the José Carrilero Museum.
On the same day of the inauguration of the exhibition and at the same place, at 7.30 pm, the talk 'Women in History' will be held, by the multidisciplinary artist María José Cárceles.
On Wednesday, March 8, the second 'Súmate' march will take place, in which members of the women's associations of the urban center and the districts will participate, as well as anyone who wants to be part of it.
The march, which will leave from Plaza del Templete at 10.00 hours, will end with the reading of the manifesto in the Plaza del Arco.
The activities are resumed on March 10, with the staging of the play 'The abrazo de Violenta', by the theatrical group 'Candilejas', the Federation of Women Organizations of Lorca, which will be aimed at students of the Institutes San Juan de la Cruz, Ginés Pérez Chirinos and Oróspeda.
The finishing touch will be the Gala Tribute to Women Entrepreneurs and Working Women, scheduled for March 11, at 7.30 pm, in the Castillo de la Cruz Salons.
The International Women's Day commemorates every 8 March the struggle of women for their participation, on an equal footing with men, in society and in their full development as a person.
