The activities of the 'International Women's Day' continue with the 'Súmate' march, the play 'El abrazo de Violeta' and the Tribute to Women Entrepreneur and Worker
With the collective exhibition 'Culture and Women' the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council has commenced the commemorative events of the 'International Women's Day'.
The exhibition, which brings together works by thirteen painters from Caravaqueñas, was inaugurated by the mayor, José Moreno, and the councilors of Social Services and Women, Mª José Soria, and Cultura, Óscar Martínez.
The exhibition, organized with the collaboration of Cultural Patronage, will remain in the Museo Carrilero until March 17, with an opening timetable from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
In the two temporary exhibition rooms you can admire works of different styles and techniques signed by Lara Contreras, Martina de la Cruz, Keke Calvache, Teresa Calvache, Fátima González Ródenas, Raquel Rosique, Ana Vacas, Laura Zafra, Mari Cruz Martínez Guerrero, Gloria López Corbalán, Ana Pertuz, Eva Barrilado and Miriam Rubio.
José Moreno thanked the involvement of the artists and all the people who have collaborated in the organization of this cultural activity, "in which a complete collection of paintings by Carvajal women dialogue in the same space with the works José Carrilero, one of the Best sculptors of the second half of the twentieth century, all with the added value of making visible through art equal opportunities between men and women.
The activities on the 'International Women's Day' continue tomorrow, Wednesday, with the 'Súmate' march, which will include members of the women's associations, who will finish the tour in the Plaza del Arco with the reading of the manifesto of the March 8.
On Friday, March 10, students from the institutes San Juan de la Cruz, Ginés Pérez Chirinos and Oróspeda will attend the performance of 'El abrazo de Violeta', by the theater group 'Candilejas', of the Federation of Organizations of Women of Lorca.
The Caravaca City Council will close the events of the 'International Women's Day' on 11 March with the Gala Tribute to Women Entrepreneurs and Working Women, which will take place at 19.30 hours in the Castillo de la Cruz Salons.
