The Governing Council has approved the granting of a direct grant, worth 382,000 euros, by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, through the Institute of Tourism, in favor of the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, for the realization Of the activities included in the Content Plan of the Jubilee Year of Caravaca de la Cruz 2017.
The objective is that the Foundation can manage the celebration of the Jubilee Year, promote it and execute certain actions planned in the programming for the event of exceptional public interest 'Caravaca de la Cruz 2017. Jubilee Year'.
Some of the scheduled activities included in these grants are the start of the stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, which will take place in August;
The gastronomic congress 'The kitchens of the Jubilee', to be held in June;
The recital of the RTVE Choir in September;
Or the cycle of gastronomy '(G) star Stars', among other actions.
The grant will be granted through an agreement to be signed between the Camino de la Cruz Foundation and the Tourism Institute, through which the beneficiary entity undertakes to carry out the actions.
The Master Plan for the Holy Year 2017 includes more than 100 concrete actions in order to make the Jubilee Year a success.
To this end, the Camino de la Cruz Foundation was created, with a private character, in which the majority of Murcia companies are involved, who have wanted to support this project from the beginning.
Companies that are part of the Foundation and support the Jubilee Year benefit from tax incentives, receiving up to 2018 bonuses, with tax deductions of up to 90 percent of the amount donated.
The companies and entities that currently form part of the patronage of the Camino de la Cruz Foundation and, therefore, have become patrons of the Jubilee Year, are the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz de Caravaca, Grupo Fuertes, Desserts And Dulces Reina, Estrella de Levante, Continental Products (Cafés Salzillo), Limcamar, Pharmaceutical Hermandad del Mediterráneo (Hefame), San Antonio University Foundation (UCAM), CaixaBank and the Community.
The regional government continues to work for the promotion of this event of special religious, cultural and tourist interest, which covers different areas and aims to become the main tourist attraction of the Region this year.
The Camino de la Cruz represents a project of economic, tourist and social transformation for the Region of Murcia and its interior areas, given the potential of this offer, which is reflected in the latest data from the World Tourism Organization, according to the 85 percent of international tourists may be interested in religious destinations.
