For the first time in its twenty-one-year history, the 'Laurel' Awards - granted by associations of families of people with disabilities grouped in the federation 'Full Inclusion Region of Murcia' - leave the capital of Murcia to be granted in Caravaca de la Cruz , On the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2017.
The event will take place this Thursday, March 16, at 12 noon, in the Castillo de la Cruz Salon, where representatives from the six organizations and award-winning organizations will gather, as well as the 45 new companies collaborating with 'Plena Inclusión Región de Murcia '.
People with intellectual disabilities find many barriers to entering the labor market and their unemployment rate is three times that of the general population.
For this reason, the federation of people with intellectual disabilities Full inclusion Region of Murcia (formerly FEAPS), awards every year to the companies, people and institutions that stand out in supporting these workers with their 'Laurel' awards.
These awards are presented on the proposal of associations of families working for labor inclusion, either with training, creating their own special employment centers or mediating with companies for recruitment.
On this occasion, one of the prizes 'Laurel' will be for Grupo Generala, concessionaire company of the municipal service of cleaning and maintenance of gardens and green areas of the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz.
You will receive the recognition of the category 'Training', at the proposal of the Association of Families with Disabilities of Northwest APCOM.
Thanks to Grupo Generala and the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, eight people with disabilities have completed their training, performing municipal gardening and cleaning services.
In addition, they will receive the 'Laurel' Prizes 'Golden Age - Messengers of Peace' (in the contracting category, proposed by the association Asido Cartagena), the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteer of the University of Murcia Promotion of a day center, at the proposal of the Ceom association), Torrevieja International Marina Club (in the category of promotion of a special employment center, proposed by the Astus association), Cobalto Art Center Association, on the proposal of Astrapace) and the Official College of Architects of the Region of Murcia (in the institutional category, at the suggestion of the Assido association).
During the event, the 45 new collaborators will also be welcomed with the associations of 'Full Inclusion Region of Murcia', among which is the Caravaqueña company 'Esencias Martínez Lozano'.
Full inclusion Region of Murcia is the federation that brings together more than 3,000 families who work together for the welfare of people with intellectual disabilities, forming 27 entities that employ 500 professionals.
Throughout Spain, full inclusion is made up of 891 entities spread over Spanish territory.
It represents more than 106,700 people with intellectual disabilities, 235,000 family members and 24,000 professionals.
The associations of Plena Inclusión Region of Murcia help 229 people with intellectual disabilities to have a job and many more to train to get it.
There are 115 workers with intellectual disabilities contracted through their seven services of Supported Employment, that is, with the mediation of a professional of the association to facilitate the adaptation.
In addition, they promote five special employment centers, companies that give protected employment, and which together employ 114 workers with disabilities in the Region.
Both services are funded by the SEF.
In addition, in their day centers are formed hundreds of people who aspire to have a job.
