For the development of participatory budgets in the area of ​​Youth, the Consistory Caravaqueño signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Murcia
More than 1,800 students participate in the elaboration of participatory budgets applied to the municipal area of ​​Youth.
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, with the collaboration of the University of Murcia, is holding information assemblies in the various secondary schools and Bachiller of the municipality, with the aim of knowing the proposals of young people when investing public funds.
The meetings at the institutes "Ginés Pérez Chirinos", "San Juan de la Cruz" and "Oróspeda" and at the school "Nuestra Señora de la Consolación" will last until the end of this month of March.
During the same, the team of the University of Murcia displaced to the classrooms explains the concept of participatory budgets and exposes similar experiences developed in other cities.
In subsequent sessions, the students will decide their proposals and will put them in a file.
Finally, the proposals will be put to a vote and filtered, according to previously established criteria, being those with greater support reflected in the municipal budget of 2017.
To carry out the process of implementation of participatory budgets in the area of ​​Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Murcia earlier this month.
The development of this agreement with the Faculty of Political Science and Administration will allow the Consistory to know the needs and demands of young people for a more effective and adequate use of public resources for this sector of the population.
From the process of design and implementation of participatory budgets applied to the Youth Council will be the 50 proposals most endorsed by students of Secondary, Baccalaureate and training cycles, for which the City Council will allocate in the year 2017 a budget of 15,000 euros.
In order for students and the general public to follow the process and express their thoughts, social media pages have been created with the name of 'Caravaca 2017 participatory budgets'.
