The 'Almus Quartet' and the soprano Pepi Lloret interpret 'The Last Seven Words of Christ on the Cross' this Friday, March 24, at 8:30 p.m., in the parish church of 'El Salvador'.
The concert, with an entrance fee of five euros, will be held for the benefit of the Association of Families of Persons with Intellectual Disability Northwest (APCOM).
This activity is part of the cultural program of the Jubilee Year 2017 and is promoted by the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, with the collaboration of the Caravaca de la Cruz Town Council and the Vera Cruz Guild.
The more than twenty years of uninterrupted activity of the quartet 'Almus' allow us to consider it as one of the most stable Spanish camerísticas groups of our time.
He is a resident quartet of the University of Alicante and is part of the Groups in Residence of the Auditorio de Murcia.
Its components are professors of the conservatories of Murcia and Alicante.
The Quartet 'Almus' has performed in the XVII Chamber Music Cycle held in the Royal Palace of Madrid, presided over by SS.MM.

To the numerous recitals of the quartet 'Almus' in Spain, it is necessary to add his tours in the Czech Republic, Belgium, France and Italy, emphasizing his performances in the Great Hall Martinu and the Chapel of the Mirrors of the Klementinum of Prague, among others.
In 2009, commemorating the year Haydn, he performed a concert at the Santa Cueva de Cádiz, performing 'The Last Seven Words of Christ on the Cross', whose live recording was released on DVD, sponsored by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Of Santa María de la Arrixaca and Pradas and Cebrián Abogados, receiving the praises of the specialized critic. The last seven words of Christ in the Cross are the result of the commission that, in 1785, the canon of the Cathedral of Cadiz, Don Jose Sáenz de Santamaría, performed what was considered the greatest creator of all time, Joseph Haydn, when requesting a music for greater glory of the city, to enhance and lend a greater solemnity to the Good Friday service.
