The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz joins the Regional Coalition for Innovation in Active and Healthy Aging.
The Councilor for Health, Mª José Soria, has participated in a meeting with the Minister of Health, Encarna Guillén, and representatives of the rest of Murcia consistories to work in a coordinated way in the European strategy on innovation applied to healthy aging.
The City Council of Caravaca undertakes to work in a comprehensive and coordinated way with the Ministry of Health in promoting healthy habits and disease prevention, with the ultimate goal that Murcia can live longer and better.
In this way, the invitation made by the European Commission to address the challenge of active aging through innovation, through the establishment of regional coalitions, is answered.
The Regional Coalition for Innovation in Active and Healthy Aging in Murcia is made up of more than forty entities, including public administrations, academic institutions, societies, professional associations, patient and consumer associations and companies.
The aging of the population and the increase of chronic diseases are making it necessary to reorient the health system and address these policies that focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
Specifically, the main channels of action of the regional consortium focus mainly on the prescription and adherence to medical treatments;
Personalized health care;
Integration of socio-health care in chronic diseases with the inclusion of remote supervision;
Development of solutions to increase the autonomy and quality of life of the elderly;
Encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles;
As well as introducing solutions to prevent falls or innovation in buildings, cities and smart environments for advanced ages, among others.
