The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its councils of Security and Education, has incorporated the figure of the police tutor so that, in coordination with the members of the educational community, work in the prevention and detection of risk situations for Children.
The Councilor for Education and Youth, Esther Poveda, explained that the guardian police began to perform their duties last January and that the intention is to be consolidated as a figure of connection between schools, families and bodies. Security, with the ultimate aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, as one of the most vulnerable groups in society.
"One of the main tasks of the police officer is to maintain a regular and continuous communication with the Absenteeism Commission and those responsible for the Municipal Prevention, Monitoring and Control of School Absenteeism Program and, in general, with the different agents involved in education, Monitoring those students who do not attend or have irregular attendance to classes, "he said.
Another important task of the police officer is to monitor access to and close proximity to educational centers in order to prevent and detect possible cases of drug use or trafficking and to ensure the peaceful coexistence of All students, also paying special attention to possible cases of bullying or bullying.
In short, the guardian policeman focuses mainly on prevention, avoiding risk situations for children and conflicts in their school, family and social environment, which impinge on their rights and also their duties.
