The Councilor for Social Services in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Mª José Soria, together with members of the organization of the activity 'Caravaca, in macha by the Philippines', has delivered the collection obtained with this initiative, amounting to 11,000 euros , The local president of the NGO 'Delwende', Mª Cruz López.
The event also included the participation of David Giménez, sister Antonia Arnaldos and students Carmen and José Pascual, representing the educational community of the school of Our Lady of Consolation.
More than 1,300 caravaqueños participated on 12 March in this activity of solidarity, sport and play, in order to obtain funds for the project 'Feeding Center Makopa', a center supported by the sisters of La Consolación, in a zone of Extreme poverty in the Philippine city of Quenzon City, where 60 children, with malnutrition problems, receive health care, protein diet and vitamin shock to restore their health.
As explained by the president of the local delegation of 'Delwende', the amount obtained with this march will cover practically the budget of the center of a year, so expressed gratitude to the participants, the sponsoring companies and the City of Caravaca from the cross.
The mayor María José Soria wanted to congratulate all the people who collaborated in the organization and who were part of the march, encouraging them "to work already in the second edition, to continue supporting this NGO, which celebrates 20 years supporting projects in countries Disadvantaged, mainly related to children and education ".
